Health Disclaimer
Important information about the nature of our service.
Not Medical Advice
HeyMilo provides general wellness coaching only. Our service is designed to support your health and fitness goals through AI-powered guidance, personalised plans, and habit-building tools. However, it is important to understand the boundaries of what we offer.
Our service is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your GP or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or received from HeyMilo.
If you have any concerns about your health, you should always consult a doctor or other healthcare professional. Reliance on any information provided by HeyMilo is solely at your own risk.
Not a Medical Device
HeyMilo is NOT a medical device as defined by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). We do not hold any medical device certification, and our software has not been evaluated or approved by the MHRA or any equivalent regulatory body for medical purposes.
Our service does not:
- Diagnose any medical condition
- Prescribe medication or treatment
- Provide clinical nutrition therapy
- Replace physiotherapy or rehabilitation
- Monitor vital signs or medical parameters
HeyMilo is a general wellness and fitness coaching tool only. It is intended to complement, not replace, professional healthcare services. If you require medical treatment, clinical nutrition support, or rehabilitation, please consult the appropriate qualified healthcare professional.
AI Limitations
HeyMilo uses artificial intelligence to provide personalised coaching, including fitness plans, nutrition guidance, and conversational support. While we strive for accuracy and continuously work to improve our AI systems, it is important to understand the inherent limitations of AI-generated content.
Our AI:
- May occasionally generate incorrect or inappropriate suggestions
- Cannot physically assess your form, posture, or technique
- Cannot account for all individual medical circumstances
- Relies on the accuracy of information you provide
- May not be aware of the latest medical research or guidelines
Always use your own judgement and consult a healthcare professional if you are unsure about any recommendation. If any advice from HeyMilo conflicts with guidance from your doctor or healthcare provider, you should follow your healthcare provider's advice.
When to Seek Medical Help
HeyMilo is NOT an emergency service. Our AI coach cannot detect medical emergencies, call for help, or provide urgent medical assistance. If you experience any of the following, stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention without delay.
HeyMilo will never advise you to avoid seeking medical help. If our AI ever suggests something that contradicts your instinct to seek professional care, please prioritise your safety and contact a healthcare professional.
Safety Screening
During onboarding, HeyMilo performs eligibility screening to identify potential health risks before you begin using the service. This screening is designed to help us tailor our coaching appropriately and, where necessary, recommend that you seek professional guidance instead.
Our screening uses a three-tier system:
- Green — Proceed with standard coaching. No significant health risks identified based on the information you have provided.
- Yellow — Proceed with additional cautions and modified recommendations. Some factors have been identified that require us to adapt your coaching plan, such as pre-existing conditions, age-related considerations, or pregnancy.
- Red — Service not appropriate. Based on the information you have provided, we believe HeyMilo is not the right tool for you at this time, and we recommend consulting a healthcare professional before beginning any new fitness or nutrition programme.
If you are flagged as red, we will explain why and recommend appropriate professional support. Our screening is not a medical assessment, and it cannot detect all potential risks. Even if you are cleared as green, you should still consult your GP before starting a new programme if you have any concerns.
Exercise & Nutrition Risks
Any exercise programme or dietary change carries inherent risks. The plans and recommendations provided by HeyMilo are designed for general wellness purposes and are based on commonly accepted fitness and nutrition principles. However, individual responses to exercise and dietary changes vary significantly.
Before starting any new programme, you should:
- Consult your doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, including but not limited to heart disease, diabetes, joint problems, or respiratory conditions
- Start gradually and listen to your body, increasing intensity only when you feel comfortable and ready
- Stay hydrated and maintain adequate nutrition before, during, and after exercise
- Stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, nausea, or shortness of breath, and seek medical attention if symptoms persist
- Inform your healthcare provider about any dietary changes, particularly if you take medication that may be affected by changes in food intake or nutrient balance
HeyMilo cannot monitor your physical response to exercise or dietary changes in real time. You are responsible for exercising within your own limits and seeking professional advice where appropriate.
Food Allergies & Intolerances
HeyMilo allows you to declare food allergies and intolerances during onboarding. When declared, our AI coach will avoid suggesting recipes and meal plans that contain your declared allergens, based on the UK Food Standards Agency's list of 14 major allergens.
However, it is important to understand:
- HeyMilo cannot guarantee that AI-generated recipes are completely allergen-free. AI may occasionally fail to identify hidden sources of allergens.
- Always check food labels and ingredient lists before consuming any food, even if a recipe was suggested by Milo.
- If you have a severe allergy, always carry your prescribed medication (e.g. adrenaline auto-injector) and follow your GP/allergist's advice.
- HeyMilo is not a substitute for professional allergy management. For clinical allergy assessment, diagnosis, or treatment, consult a qualified allergist or your GP.
If you experience an allergic reaction, seek medical attention immediately. In an emergency, call 999.
No Guarantees
Results from using HeyMilo vary significantly between individuals. Health, fitness, and nutrition outcomes are influenced by a wide range of factors, many of which are outside our control. We believe in transparency and want to set realistic expectations.
We do not guarantee:
- Specific weight loss or gain results
- Achievement of fitness goals within any particular timeframe
- Improvements in any health markers, blood work, or medical parameters
- That AI-generated plans will be suitable for all users in all circumstances
Your results depend on many factors including genetics, adherence to the programme, underlying health conditions, sleep quality, stress levels, and other lifestyle factors outside our control. HeyMilo is a tool to support your journey, but the outcomes are ultimately determined by your individual circumstances and effort.
